About Me

Hi everyone! My name is Elizabeth, and I've been a member of Girl Guides of Canada for 13 years. I started in Brownies (now called Embers) and went all the way to Rangers, as well as volunteering as a Girl Assistant with an Ember Unit for six years. I am currently in Link, as well as volunteering as a Brand Ambassador. I created this blog to share all the resources and meeting plans I made for online meetings while we could not meet in-person due to Covid-19. I am not currently a Guider, but I do still update this blog occasionally when I think of something new. I am currently in university, and I hope to become a Guider once I've got some more free time. If you'd like to see more from me, check out my TikTok . Quick disclaimer: This is my personal blog. It is not an official Girl Guides of Canada source. It is not meant to imply GGC approval of any materials posted, unless specifically noted. If you would like official GGC information, please visit  https://www.girlguides.

I'm a Spark/Ember activity sheets

Hi everyone! I'm back with another activity sheet for Sparks and Embers. This would be a great activity when preparing for enrollment, or learning about your branch.  I'm a Spark! activity sheet Je suis une Spark! activity sheet I'm an Ember! activity sheet Je suis une Ember! activity sheet

Two Stars and a Wish Activity Sheet

Here is a basic Two Stars and a Wish template I've made, perfect for evaluating camps, events, or the Guiding year in general. I am also working on one that is mostly drawing-based for younger girls, as well as a more detailed one for older girls. Two Stars and a Wish - English Two Stars and a Wish - French

Girl Guide Word Searches

I'm back with some more resources, this time some word searches. I've created a simple version and an advanced version (the advanced version has more words), and they are both available in English and French. Girl Guide Colouring Pages

Here are some colouring pages that I made based on the new GGC clipart. There are four different designs, all in one file for easy downloading.  GGC Colouring Pages Disclaimer: The images that these are based off are owned by Girl Guides of Canada, I just traced them to turn them into colouring pages for personal/Unit use.

Promise Posters

With Brownies being renamed to Embers, I anticipate that a lot of Ember Units will be looking for new resources with the new promise, law, and branch name. I've made these promise posters, which would make a great aid for teaching the promise, law and motto. I made one for each branch, in English and French. The font size is quite large, so they can be printed as a full page, or multiple per page to be a more convenient size. 2023 Update

Hi everyone! As you've probably noticed if you've made it to reading this post, I've made a few changes to my blog. Most notably, the name. With the Brownies being changed to Embers, and my future volunteer roles in Guiding being unknown, I decided to change the name to my site to simply "Elizabeth's Guiding Corner" so that it can grow and change with me, no matter what branch I end up in.  Over the next few weeks I will be posting some print resources that I've made, like colouring sheets, activity sheets, and Promise and Law resources. I am going to try and make them available in french as well, wherever I can. I am also going to try and update all my old resources that use the word "Brownies", although this may take some time. I'm not going to update the old posts themselves, as that would take way too much of my time, and they are accurate for the time that they were posted. So what have I been up to? During the 2021-2022 Guiding year I t

Guide and Scout Music Badge Collection

Music is a huge part of my life outside of Guiding. I play five instruments (piano, french horn, accordion, handbells, and ukulele), and have been involved in various music groups. When I became interested in Girl Guide uniforms and badges and wanted to start collecting, I didn't really know where to start. But then I saw someone on Facebook post about their collection of reading badges, and I thought that it was a great idea! So I started collecting music badges from various time periods and countries.  I have also included some generals "Arts" badges that have music symbols or imagery on them.  So far my collection includes twenty five badges from Canada and the UK, and I am always looking for more on buy-and-sell sites.
