2023 Update

Hi everyone!

As you've probably noticed if you've made it to reading this post, I've made a few changes to my blog. Most notably, the name. With the Brownies being changed to Embers, and my future volunteer roles in Guiding being unknown, I decided to change the name to my site to simply "Elizabeth's Guiding Corner" so that it can grow and change with me, no matter what branch I end up in. 

Over the next few weeks I will be posting some print resources that I've made, like colouring sheets, activity sheets, and Promise and Law resources. I am going to try and make them available in french as well, wherever I can. I am also going to try and update all my old resources that use the word "Brownies", although this may take some time. I'm not going to update the old posts themselves, as that would take way too much of my time, and they are accurate for the time that they were posted.

So what have I been up to? During the 2021-2022 Guiding year I took a step back from volunteering at the Unit level to make time for school and other activities. I did stay involved in Guiding though, I joined Link, and was chosen to be part of the Brand Ambassador team, a role that I will be filling again this year. Me and the other Brand Ambassadors ran the "Get to Know Girl Guides" sessions that were available for families who were thinking of signing their girls up for Girl Guides. I really enjoyed the role as it allowed me to share my passion for Guiding in the hopes that other girls will get the same experiences. It also fit very well with my schedule as a student, as most of the work we did was during the spring and summer. I am also still active on my TikTok (@t0astedmarshma110w), where I post Guiding-related videos.
