About Me

Hi everyone!

My name is Elizabeth, and I've been a member of Girl Guides of Canada for 13 years. I started in Brownies (now called Embers) and went all the way to Rangers, as well as volunteering as a Girl Assistant with an Ember Unit for six years. I am currently in Link, as well as volunteering as a Brand Ambassador.

I created this blog to share all the resources and meeting plans I made for online meetings while we could not meet in-person due to Covid-19. I am not currently a Guider, but I do still update this blog occasionally when I think of something new. I am currently in university, and I hope to become a Guider once I've got some more free time.     This is an bank escape room I made for our unit in Edmonton and I think the girls enjoyed it enough. It covers a lot of topics related to banks, money, and currency. It came about because in January when I was looking for a free escape room every internet search linked me to an escape room site where a payment was required. Our unit does not have that much money (cookie sales) and the cost of playing would of bankrupt us. So the bank escape room was born.
    PS currently there seems to be lots of free escape rooms now so the internet algorithms has been corrected.

Promise Posters

 With Brownies being renamed to Embers, I anticipate that a lot of Ember Units will be looking for new resources with the new promise, law, and branch name. I've made these promise posters, which would make a great aid for teaching the promise, law and motto. I made one for each branch, in English and French. The font size is quite large, so they can be printed as a full page, or multiple per page to be a more convenient size.
